The sun was high in the sky, the waters were low in the stream. A fairly content day in the valley. Still too early to ever be doing work, in Flynn's ever humble opinion, but it had to be done. Watering dragged on as it usually did, very little of the fruits having ripened to their potential. After leaving the animals he had to pasture, the farmer decided he deserved a bit of a mid-morning break. It was the least the Harvest Goddess could do for him to make sure some kook didn't run off with his sheep.
Barefoot, Flynn made his way up the path. The dirt was warm beneath his feet and made the terrain all the more enjoyable to ascend. No one was around to bother him up these ways, making the small pond a perfect paradise for him to relax in. Once he arrived, the previous sand between his toes becoming lush grass, he allowed himself to collapse to his knees. Fabric had a bad habit of getting caught around the bulbs. Finally managing the minor difficulty, the shirt flew with ease over his shoulder as the farmer tossed it into the grass.
Stretched out similarly to the lazy cat that laid along his porch, he curled his back into an arch and crossed his arms behind his back. As his eyes slid closed, he began to hum a simple melody under his breath.
Though not oblivious to the company who was about to join him.

Eri loved days off. They were just...fun! She didn't have as huge a chance of awkward encounters with guests at the inn, instead trading them for awkward encounters with those she was more familiar with, or 'adventures' in the valley. She was doing the latter now, bounding barefoot in no particular direction. Aimlessness was a pressing problem of her 'adventures', but she'd once nearly fallen into the river...so aimlessness wasn't all bad.
Of course, that aimlessness was about to cause the socially inept young woman a few difficulties. She was still entirely unaware of that. Her feet took her up to a little area with a pond. She looked at it curiously, attempting to recall if she had come across it before. That was approximately when she noticed the man sprawled on the ground and squeaked. Oh no, she'd somehow gotten onto someone else's land again! Embarrassing...but it sometimes turned out to be a profitable adventure. It was just usually...awkward.
Eri vaguely recognized the man as having some sort of name with an F in it - hey, she wasn't good with names, though if she were, she might be better with people. She had to think for a minute about what she was supposed to do or say in this sort of situation.
"Er, ah, sorry for...um, intruding," she fumbled out. Terrible at social interaction, as always. Perhaps some of her general recklessness ought to have crossed over into her behavior with others.

Small feet. Lacking shoes as well, from the sounds of it. Such restrictive things, shoes. As was clothing of just about every variety. There was a reason he hadn't been born in a pair of overalls and a wind-breaker. Mother Nature had demanded a certain comformity of her children and he gladly submitted to that whim of hers.
Or maybe he just had no shame. Being naked always promised fun.
"Er, ah, sorry for...um, intruding." Came a softer nervous voice of the feminine variety, one that belonged to a miss Eri Buckley if his ears hadn't betrayed him yet. Cocking the brim of his cap upward, Flynn glanced over his shoulder to confirm his suspicions. Which, no doubt upon himself, were entirely correct. The maid had an unmistakable humble shyness to her that acted as her identity better than even her name.
"Well, miss," he drawled playfully, offering her a wink, "It's not intruding if you come and join me. If you choose not to, I may have to be offended." He feigned a pout before dismissing the expression, bursting into a full-hearted laugh. Patting the space beside him, the farmer resumed his previous position against the grass and began whistling the same tune as if the girl had never been there to begin with.

The weather seemed bright and Mel thanked the Goddess for that, because it will be such a shame if the days she can spent on doing whatever it was that she pleased were wet instead of dry.
Wearing her favorite sleeveless maroon dress, Mel began her walk from the inn. She stopped by to check that everything was running smoothly and she was pleased to see that the cook replacing her was doing the job well.
At least, I can guarantee that the inn will not be on fire the next day, Mel thought to herself as the autumn breeze swept her body. She shivered a little, and immediately regretted on not wearing thicker cloth. Or even a cardigan.
Without her realizing it, she had actually walked up to the middle of the forest, where a small pond was located. Mel had always loved the place, calling it her own 'little paradise'. She walked with ease towards it, when she saw two figures in the distance. She recognized both of them immediately.
"Good morning, Eri! Mr Hayes," Mel smiled her sunny smile to both of them. Flynn Hayes was lying on the grass while Eri Buckley was standing near him. Mel wasn't sure what to do next. So she resorted to what most people would do, by commenting on the weather.
"Isn't it a nice day?" she smiled while glancing around the area. | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style,background-color: c0c0c0; border-radius: 10px;] WORDS: 257 | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style,background-color: c0c0c0; border-radius: 10px;] OPEN | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style,background-color: c0c0c0; border-radius: 10px;] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style,background-color: c0c0c0; border-radius: 10px;] NOTES: ♥ ♥ ♥ |

Eri fidgeted awkwardly when the man looked up at her. Oh how she hated anything social... But she figured it'd be seen as rude or something if she just fled...though she really, really, desperately wanted to. Get back to running and exploring and finding weird out of the way places where she could avoid people and do stupid things.
"Well, miss, it's not intruding if you come and join me. If you choose not to, I may have to be offended." And then he pouted before laughing. Okay, color her confused. Perplexed, Obviously socially clueless. Did that mean her vague thought it'd be rude to flee was right, or wrong? Maybe it was both...or or, she didn't know. Flynn Hayes was a confusing man. (Though really, people were baffling in general...)
She awkwardly settled down near him - not super close, because she was slightly skittish of all people. It was almost as soon as she did that when the cook - also on her day off - showed up. Eri loved Amelia for showing up then. Suddenly, everything felt less awkward for her. "Hi Amelia," she said softly, as she did most everything, "It is nice out..." Oh weather, standard conversation breaker... Eri never understood why people talked about it so much, of course.
