The sun was shining, brightening up the lovely yellow, brown and gold colors of the leaves. Mel was walking down the road, towards the place where she spent most of her time at; the Inner Inn. She had worked as the cook there from quite a few years now, and she had loved every moment of it. Cooking is one of her passions, and people had commented that she is one of the few brilliant cooks in Forget-Me-Not.
Smiling brightly, Mel entered the inn as she reached the building. Nobody was in sight as she started her work. She opened all the windows, letting in the cool autumn breeze before she went into the kitchen. Mel wasn't sure whether the other workers that also worked with her at the place (Eri and Lydia) were already in or not. She hoped that they will arrive soon, as she hated feeling lonely working alone.
Whistling to herself, Mel began to wipe the tables, getting ready for any customers. | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style,background-color: c0c0c0; border-radius: 10px;] WORDS: 175 | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style,background-color: c0c0c0; border-radius: 10px;] OPEN | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style,background-color: c0c0c0; border-radius: 10px;] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style,background-color: c0c0c0; border-radius: 10px;] NOTES: ♥ ♥ ♥ |

Eri hurtled in the door roughly around the time the cook had disappeared into the kitchen. Amelia or Lydia was already there, she saw, judging by the windows, as she smoothed her hair back and slowed her breathing. She always ran to work, regardless of the fact she was never late. Just one of her little quirks, really.
Cautiously, she peered in the kitchen so she'd know who was there - Amelia. Good. Awkward with people as she was, Eri had the awkward contradiction of hating to work alone. "Morning," she called quietly to the cook, and came over to help with the tables.

She hoped that a lot of customers will come and have a few drinks today, but she knew that she shouldn't be worried. The bar will always be full at night, filled with chatters and laughter. Mel loved the moment people started to flock in the building, as it created such warm and happy atmosphere for the otherwise cold-looking inn.
The spell was broken as the Mel heard the main door was opened. She continued on with her work, collecting yesterday's dirty dishes and placing them in the sink to be washed. She then went to the cupboard to take out a few onions. Her favorite part will begin - cooking.
"Morning, a quiet voice greeted her. Mel turned around and saw Eri, who worked as the maid of the inn.
"Good morning Eri!" Mel greeted her cheerfully, glad to have some company. Eri had always been uncomfortable around people, as observed by Mel. She had always tried to make Eri feels comfortable around her, at least, but she wasn't sure if it will actually work.
"Hey, had you had any breakfast?" Mel smiled at the maid, while grabbing her apron and tying it behind her back. "Want me to make something for you? You can't work if you have an empty stomach!" At the same time, she grabbed a knife and began to chop the already peeled onions. | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style,background-color: c0c0c0; border-radius: 10px;] WORDS: 241 | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style,background-color: c0c0c0; border-radius: 10px;] OPEN | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style,background-color: c0c0c0; border-radius: 10px;] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style,background-color: c0c0c0; border-radius: 10px;] NOTES: ♥ ♥ ♥ |

Eri was quickly finished with the remaining tables, flashing an awkward smile over her shoulder at the cook. She thought Amelia was sweet and all, but very little could erase her absolute discomfort with people.
"Hey, had you had any breakfast? Want me to make something for you? You can't work if you have an empty stomach!" Amelia was too sweet, to ask that. And predicting Eri quite well.
Eri flushed. No, she hadn't... She'd been busy...she forgot what now. It might've involved poking a bug that had wandered into her room with a tiny twig. It had twitched every time she did that. "No, I haven't," she admitted, sheepish. "Uh, sure I guess..." Quietly, she made her way to the sink and rolled up long sleeves to start in on the dishes. They'd be needed around lunch time. The routine was monotonous, but necessary.

"Uh, sure I guess..." Mel's eyes brightened immediately, because she had a reason to cook something now. "Great! Now, what do you want?" She began to move across the kitchen quickly, towards the refrigerator and opened it. She peered inside to see lots of containers with different sizes and colors, stacked neatly inside it, each containing different types of raw ingredients. Some of them were already prepared, but the others didn't, like the chickens that need to be chopped.
Mel took out a huge container, containing rice. She needed to heat this up first before she can prepare any dish with it. Placing it on the table, Mel then continued to take out a few more containers, containing vital ingredients for her to work with. She then spotted a few oranges in the refrigerator and got an idea. Taking them out, Mel called out to Eri, "I'll make you some fresh orange juice, what do you think?" Placing the oranges on the working table, Mel looked at Eri to see her reaction. She wasn't sure what Eri would want to have for breakfast, well, it could be that Eri's allergic to orange! Did I make the right choice, Mel thought anxiously.
"So, what would you like to eat?" Mel smiled her sunny smile towards Eri, hoping that she will know that Mel really didn't mind whipping something up for her, as long as it is in the menu. | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style,background-color: c0c0c0; border-radius: 10px;] WORDS: 249 | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style,background-color: c0c0c0; border-radius: 10px;] OPEN | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style,background-color: c0c0c0; border-radius: 10px;] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style,background-color: c0c0c0; border-radius: 10px;] NOTES: ♥ ♥ ♥ |

She couldn't believe how late she had been running. That's what happened when she stopped to admire the scenery. Sleep had also been so hard to acquire last night. No matter how hard she tried sleep would not take her. The crickets were chirping too loudly or a fly was buzzing annoyingly in her room. Of course she lived at the inn, but she would always leave early in the morning to watch the sun rise and greet the Earth.
She regained composure as she walked inside. No one was even there. It was quiet except for the soft voices of her two coworkers. Lydia kept her distance. "Sorry I'm so late." She called out as she began to straighten up a bit before people came down from their rooms or entered to acquire a room.
After doing what little things needed to be done, she wandered over to her coworkers. Mel was the cook, a wonderful one at that. Then there was Eri the beautiful blonde maid. Lydia never really saw them outside of the Inner Inn, but she still thought of them as friends. The two of them were just too friendly.

"Great! Now, what do you want?"
Oh, great, she had to come up with something... What was she hungry for anyway? Eri wasn't particularly hungry...but she knew herself well enough to realize she'd go several days without realizing she hadn't eaten, so she'd do better to just pick something. Recalling what little immediately sprung to mind from the menu, she tugged on a long strand of hair. "Uh, waffles...if that's okay...?"
"I'll make you some fresh orange juice, what do you think?"
"Oh, ah, that'd be fine." Being talked to this much was always overwhelming for the reclusive young woman. Being a maid, she rarely got bothered. Lydia, the other maid, wasn't exactly always talkative, and they rarely interacted with customers, since they generally cleaned rooms after people were out of them.
"Sorry I'm so late."
Think of Lydia, and she appears... It was just like magic, or something. "Hi Lydia," she called softly. "You're not late...I think we're all actually a bit early." She gave one of her shy smiles. Her coworkers were seriously nice, and the closest things to friends she had.
